This month we are taking a trip to Austria with our first four wines and highlighting a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir that we couldn’t resist this summer season.Our first red is Hermann Moser Zweigelt named ‘The Red Cherry’ 🍒for, you guessed it, red cherry notes on the forefront with a touch of blackberry. Think of it as a Pinot Noir with a bit more heft. @weingut_hermannmoserOur First White is a traditional Austrian Field Blend. @ingridgroiss is to thank for this bright, aromatic, dry white that will cool you right off on a hot summer’s day. This wine consists of about 15 different white grapes that her grandmother planted together in 1951, about half of which have been identified. ✨For the second red, we have the Stadlmann Pinot Noir 2019 which comes from the northern sector of the Thermenregion, a chain of gentle east-facing slopes made up of limestone-clay soils. This Pinot is going to drink similarly to a Burgundy Pinot, elegantly balanced with with a warm spice note.The second white is a summer staple, Berger Gruner Veltliner. Coming from the eastern part of the Kremstal, the grapes are planted on steep loess terraces that store heat during the day and into the night, producing bright, fresh wines. White pepper, green apple, and lime and comes in a liter…more for sharing, or not!😉Lastly, our Millenium is Flaneur Cuvée Constantin 2019 Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. A combination of two complimentary vineyards- Flanerie, known for it’s bold, spicey dark red fruit, and La Belle Promenade which produces bright cool climate grapes.
